Well this is just the beginning with nowhere to go from here but up! Just thought I would say a little something while I start getting the blog up and running. Let me explain what we’re about in case the title and slogan above don’t quite do it. This blog is all about smashing technology, innovation, and fun straight into model railroading and/or just about anything train related! I’ used to be heavily into traditional model railroading with it’s precise scale and cramming as much accurate detail in as possible and operating layouts as realistically as possible but I think I’ve moved on. Now I’m more about taking a train, a structure, or even a whole layout and  hacking it all up, sticking all sorts of gizmos into it, onto it, or around it and seeing if I can get it do some really neat stuff! I have a ton of kewl experiments and how-to articles all planned and will be posting them here along with pictures, videos, circuit diagrams and more! I’m very excited to be combining several of my hobbies together into one crazy jumble of model railroading gadget goodness!

I sincerely hope to get this blog going to the point of making Track Hacker a published magazine and will need your hope to do so. I’m going to need readers first and foremost but I’m going to need readers to submit articles that adhere to the Track Hacker slogan – Kitbashing Model Railroading with Innovation, Technology, and Fun! I’m going to need progressive model railroading, model building, train, and general hobby companies to link swap, blogroll, and even advertise on Track Hacker. I’m going to need those companies along with other hobbyists, inventors, etc… to send me really cool gadgets to test and publish reviews on. Finally, I’m going to need everyone who comes to Track Hacker to bookmark it, twitter about us, post us on your Facebook page, and/or just let people know who we are, what we’re about, and where we’re at!

There is going to be a lot of changes to Track Hacker over the coming weeks as I get the site up and running, publish articles, make changes, and promote the site. Let me know what you think or if you have suggestions or submissions.

Thank you!
